Policies

We are delighted that you have chosen The Barn Inn for your lodging. We are centrally located between Cleveland and Columbus, making us a prime place to stay for your next weekend getaway or vacation to Amish Country, and are also only a few minutes from both downtown Berlin and downtown Millersburg, Ohio. Please read over our policies before making your reservation. These are also included in your confirmation email. If you have any questions or concerns, please call or email us and we will be happy to assist you.


Cancellations

All reservations at our Ohio Amish Country inn will be charged a $100 deposit at the time of booking, which is applied to your stay.

Cancellations must be made at least 10 days prior to reservation date or your deposit will be forfeited. Guests cancelling within 10 days of the scheduled arrival date will only be charged a $20 cancellation fee. If you do not arrive on the day of your reservation, and our attempts to contact you have failed, you will be charged the full cost of your stay. We do, however, understand that emergencies happen, and events may occur that are outside of your control. For this reason, we take sudden cancellations on a case-by-case basis. By reserving a room, we are taking it off the market, and holding it exclusively for you. Should the credit card number you give us be declined, we will make every attempt to reach you for clarification. If we receive no reply within 24 hours, the room will not be guaranteed.

Cancellations may be made only by speaking to a sales associate over the phone or in person; not by email.

Check In/Out

Guest check-in opens at 3:00pm. We prefer arrival by 7:00pm, but if a later check-in is necessary, please call to make arrangements and let us know when you expect to arrive. No check-ins will be accepted after 11:30pm.

Check-out time is 11am on the day of your departure.

Smoking

We maintain a smoke-free environment and smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited both inside the Inn and outside on the balconies and porches. Smoking is permitted outside, at least a distance of 20 feet away from the Inn. If a guest chooses to violate this policy, they will be asked to leave and will be charged the full amount of their stay, as well as a $150.00 charge to compensate for cleaning and lost revenue. Disposal of cigarettes in waste baskets is a violation of Ohio State Fire Code and may result in a fine from the Fire Marshall.

Alcohol and Firearms

Due to our wine license, and in accordance with Ohio law, no outside beer or liquor may be brought onto the premises. The Barn Inn offers wine for sale Monday through Saturday, and guests may bring their own wine. 

Under no circumstance is any person permitted to bring any type of firearm, explosive, or dangerous chemical onto the Barn Inn premises, in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 2923.126(C)(3)(a). This includes both open and concealed carry weapons, even if the person has a permit, and all others as defined by Ohio Revised Codes 2923.126 and 2923.12(A)(2)

Reservations

By reserving a room, the purchaser agrees that they are responsible for all charges of indebtedness for room reservations and/or services ordered or rendered. 

The Barn Inn reserves the right to interchange similar rooms and suites to accommodate reservation needs and/or for housekeeping purposes.

If a room is available for the number of nights requested, guests staying more than one night will not be permitted to switch to another same-type room simply for the novelty of switching rooms. (Example: We have four simularly-featured standard rooms. Guests staying two nights may not, simply for a change of decor, request a different room the second night).

We have one ADA compliant handicapped parking space available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We cannot reserve the space for a particular person.

Rates and policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods without notice and for some special requests.

Two-night stays are required for weekends (Friday and Saturday) during our highest season in the Fall (late September until early November).

Groups - Weekend stays (Fri-Sat) require a two-night booking for groups of ten or more persons.

Children are defined as 11 years of age and younger. We do not accept children under the age of 11 at The Barn Inn, but children 12 and older are allowed, and charged the regular adult rate.

If you are paying with a gift certificate, it will be applied to your account upon your reservation. Certificates issued by the Barn Inn will be honored for two years from issuance date. Certificates older than two years will be honored only between Sunday & Thursday. Certificates are transferable, but are not redeemable for cash. We accept only Barn Inn gift certificates. If a room is held with a gift certificate, and if the guest does not show, the gift certificate will be invalidated for indebtedness, and if the gift certificate does not cover the room cost, the guest's credit card will be charged for the balance.

The Barn Inn does not accept checks, Money Orders, or Western Unions.

Persons paying with cash must show a photo ID and present a valid credit card number in the case of any charges incurred by room damage.

Amenities and Accommodations

We do not turn on the gas to the fireplaces in the spring or fall when air conditioners are still in use. Please inquire if you have questions about seasonal use of fireplaces.

Breakfast is served only once each morning. Guests registered for a stay at The Barn Inn will be served a hot country breakfast promptly at 8:30am. Breakfast is served only to the number of guests registered to a room. Persons wishing to eat breakfast prior to the scheduled serving time will be offered a hot egg/sausage/cheese biscuit sandwich and fruit to go. Additional persons (including children) may not be placed in a room without payment and registration.

If you have dietary restrictions, allergies, or have a special dietary request, please indicate them at the time of booking, or call it in several days prior to your arrival. There is no extra charge for these accommodations. 

For stay-over room service, guests must sign out on the lobby clipboard by 12:00pm. The Barn Inn staff must be able to service stay-over rooms by 3:00pm or service will not be provided. If the "Do Not Disturb" tag is visible on the outside of the room door, we will not enter the room. In stay-over rooms, bed linens will only be changed after the third night's consecutive stay.

Room guests staying over on a Sunday will receive fresh towels and any other needed amenities that are requested. No other room service is provided on Sunday.

As a courtesy to other guests staying in the Barn, please observe quiet time after 10:30pm.

Pets

While the Millersburg, Ohio, Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast does not accept pets, you may still be able to bring your furry family member with you to enjoy during the day while visiting. We are, however, completely compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and accept registered service animals accompanying disabled persons. Holmes County East Holmes Veterinary Clinic provides Doggy Day Care Service and is dedicated to ensuring that the animals in their care are safe and comfortable. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. - 12 p.m. Sorry, they are not open on Sunday, so no Sunday check ins or check outs.

Waiving the Right to Party

Our policy is to ensure all our guests can enjoy their time with us and not be inconvenienced by noise or other actions. The Barn Inn will monitor any music or noise, and one warning will be given to reduce noise/disturbance. The maximum guests allowed in a room are per bedding configuration. If the noise from your room is disturbing others, it must end immediately. Should the noise continue, you will be asked to leave The Barn Inn with no refund. We do not permit bachelor or bachelorette parties at any of our locations.
